Mina family room

Mina is a family room at Wallhalla Bed & Breakfast in Vännfors, about 30 minutes from Umeå.

The room is named after Ing-Marie's paternal grandmother, Fredrika Wilhelmina Hedberg, born Häggström. She was born in Storhäggsjö, the seventh of eleven children, four of whom died in childhood. Her parents were Nils and Karolina.

In 1901, Mina married Karl Hedberg. They had twelve children, and all of them grew up on the farm in Vännfors.

She ran the school canteen for children who had a long way to travel to school. Mina had wanted to become a teacher and also enjoyed drawing. That may have inspired several of her children, who later became artists.

The room measures 18 m². There is space here for two adults and a child. From the desk, you can look out over the vegetable garden.
