Ice cream made on the farm by the Vindelälven River
Glassbonden in Västra Selet is a popular place to visit in summer, around 12 kilometres from Wallhalla. Helena and Tomas make their own ice cream in the farm dairy, using milk from northern Sweden and natural flavourings. At the ice cream bar, you can choose from a wide range of flavours, from familiar favourites to more unusual local combinations such as cloudberry and caramel or Västerbottensost with pear. Once you have chosen your ice cream, find a seat outside and enjoy the view across the Vindelälven River.

Getting there
Glassbonden is around 12 kilometres from Wallhalla. Cross the river from Wallhalla and follow the signs to Västra Selet. The drive takes around 15 minutes.

Try something different
There are plenty of flavours to choose from, including both familiar favourites and more unusual local combinations. Try a flavour you might not normally choose. Sometimes the unexpected ones turn out to be the most memorable.
Stay for a little longer
Glassbonden serves waffles and pies as well as ice cream, so you can easily turn your visit into a longer break rather than simply stopping for an ice cream.
Walk to the suspension bridge
Selet’s old suspension bridge, which dates back to the 1920s, is nearby and can be reached along a short path. There is also a cow trail where you can find out more about the cows on the farm.
Sit outside and enjoy the view
Take your ice cream outside and find a seat overlooking the Vindelälven River. The setting is part of the experience.

Is Glassbonden open all year round?
No. Glassbonden is open during the summer, usually from mid-June to mid-August. It is closed on Midsummer Eve. Check the latest opening hours before you visit.
Is there anything other than ice cream?
Yes. Freshly made waffles and homemade pies are also available. There is no full lunch menu, but there is plenty to choose from if you fancy something alongside your ice cream or would like to stay for a while.
Is there parking?
Yes. Parking is available at the farm. There is also space to leave your bike if you cycle there.

Yes. It is a family-friendly place, with a trampoline, playhouse and plenty of space for children to move around.
